John Denver, a singer-songwriter from Colorado who focused on folk-pop music that was a hit with millions of fans. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell, New Mexico. He was enthralled by Colorado and settled down in Aspen. Denver's state anthems, which are well-known, have drawn many people newcomers to Colorado. G. Brown the curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame said that John Denver was the best artist to capture Colorado. In 2011 Denver was selected as the Hall of Fame's very first inductee. Today he personifies the state for all people. It is a fact that when I travel you meet someone from the opposite side of the world someone who is from New Zealand and you say "I'm from Colorado and the very first thing that comes you hear is"Oh John Denver! Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads composed by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief stint in a folk group it was Denver's debut Top 10 solo hit. Danoff created the song using Johnny Cash in mind but after Denver was introduced to an earlier version and listened to it, he was convinced that the track could become one of the top hits. Following the performance during a concert in Washington D.C. to a large audience, Denver did a song recording just a few days afterward.
